Barbara Jean Sowa
LE ROY — Barbara Jean (Shepard) Sowa passed away March 31, 2014.
She was born on July 4, 1939, a most auspicious day for all. The daughter of Orrin and Florence Shepard, Barbara was blessed with many brothers and a sister. She lived a life, through no fault of her own, that was not always smooth going, especially with three children, but in the end turned out to be beautiful. She always had the capacity to think of others before herself.
Her daughters, Kathryn Ann (Sowa) Potter-Archer and Kristine Marie Sowa, predecease Barbara.
She is survived by her son, Walter Sowa III of Bradenton, Fla.; two wonderful and caring brothers, Gerald Shepard of Batavia and Robert Shepard of Mount Airy, N.C. In life, she was surrounded by many nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47. Barbara now has everlasting life, with her immortality secured on earth through her granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth, Emily Iona, Audrey Anne and Lily Kathryn Roy.
Friends are invited to attend Barbara’s graveside service at 9 a.m. Saturday at Machpelah Cemetery, North Street, Le Roy. Arrangements made by Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, Le Roy
